Based upon a unique understanding of the needs and requirements of the ever-changing book trade, JMA offers recommendations and suggests changes with the intent to best position your book. To support the crafting, production, distribution, and sale of your book, Jennifer McCord Associates LLC offers a variety of services.

Principal Jennifer McCord has worked in the book retail and publishing industry in New York and Seattle for more than 25 years. She understands the needs of writers and authors, agents, designers, marketing professionals, editors, proofreaders, and publishers to bring books to life.

Jennifer's career in publishing began when she took the job as manager of an independent book store on a dare from her then-teenage daughter. She later moved from the independent bookseller to a management position with Waldenbooks. During her time there, Jennifer became one of the original romance book experts and the national spokesperson for the chain on the Romance Fiction category. She also contributed industry insights on Romance and Women's fiction as a columnist for the retailer's customer newsletter.

Since then, Jennifer has worked in nearly every aspect of the industry, from traditional publishing to small press and self-publishing ventures. For many years, she has dedicated herself to the success of the Northwest writing community in various capacities, including: an advisor to the University of Washington Extension Writing programs, past President and board member of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association and past President and board member of Seattle Free Lances. She has also been appointed to be ambassador to the SEA programs, Self Employment for the Arts that is housed at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

As a writer, editor, educater, creativity coach and publishing consultant,Jennifer lends her expertise in the book business to writer and publishers. She is currently working as Associate Publisher and Executive Editor for Coffeetown Enterprises based in Ballard, Washington.
